Southside Lions Club service projects include:
Adopt-A-Highway - Volunteers clean a stretch of Providence Road once a quarter. 
Eye Glass Recycling Center - Volunteers donate time twice monthly to sort, clean and classify donated glasses.
Red Cross Blood Drive - Volunteers take care of signing in donors and serving refreshments after blood is donated.  Aug 2nd, 2010 blood drive collected 37 units of blood.

Vision, Hearing and Diabetes Screenings with the Sight and Hearing Van

Members of Lions from Chesapeake Host, Deep Creek, Great Bridge, Southside , and Western Branch volunteered to screen children and adults for sight , hearing , glaucoma, and diabetes at the Broadlawn Community Center on Saturday August 16th. We screened 95 residences for sight, hearing, and glaucoma, and 42 residences for diabetes.  We also gave out 8 pair of reading glasses. Lifestyle Center of Chesapeake General also provided photo eye , and matrix dot E screening.
Norfolk Crime Prevention Night Out
Lions Clubs -Chesapeake Host, Deep Creek, Great Bridge, and Southside participated in the first South Norfolk Crime Prevention Night Out at Lakeside Park. We screened 42 individuals for vision, hearing, and glaucoma , and 29 diabetes tests utilizing the Mobile Sight and Hearing Van.
