Lou Sartor, Director and CEO of the Spartanburg Soup Kitchen, was the November Speaker at the Lions Club meeting. Mrs Sartor stated that they were in need of to-go boxes for the Thanksgiving holidays. The Southside Lions Club donated 1000 to-go boxes in order to provide take-out food for the homeless.

Five school principals were invited to the Southside Lions Club Luncheon meeting in August to receive baskets full of back to school teacher supplies. Two of the principals, Tammy Jordan of Mary H. Wright Elementary and Victoria Bradley of E. P. Todd were present to receive their supplies. All five principals are members of the Lions Club.

On September 5, 2022, the Spartanburg Lions Club invited the Spartanburg Southside Lions Club to join them in their first Labor Day cookout at Rainbow Lake. The two clubs enjoyed such a wonderful time together, they decided to make this an annual event.
The Spartanburg Southside Lions form an assembly line as they pack bags of food for the children at Mary H. Wright Elementary School to take home on the weekends. The Lions do this every first Thursday at their regular meeting.
The Spartanburg Southside Lions Club earned their first Trex bench by collecting 500 pounds of plastic to be recycled and help with environmental issues in landfills. The bench was donated to the T.K.Gregg Community Activity Center
